Thirst can be tricky... is it like hunger, when you're thirsty is it too late? Are you already dehydrated? How important is water any way?
Water only makes up over 60% of the human body so it can't be that important... WRONG! You can go quite awhile without oh so delicious food but tasteless water you can only survive without it for like 7 days.
If the water level's in the body drop just 2%, it can cause fatigue. Chronic dehydration can cause many other health issues including digestive, immune, cardiovascular and a host of other issues.
So how in the world can you get hydrated?
First you start by drinking more water. Aim for right around a half gallon of water. I know it can be hard but don't worry you have options.
There is a simple concoction that can help hydrate that wrinkled dehydrated body of yours.
8-12 oz. of Filtered or Spring Water
1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt (Pink Himalayan is my go to)
1/4 Fresh Lemon Squeezed
Here's why:
First off Sea Salt is chalk full of trace minerals which have many health benefits, also salt when dissolved helps the body send and receive messages as well as facilitating cell hydration.
Lemon and other citrus fruits have calcium and potassium and when combined with salt helps balance pH and fluid levels in the body.
Just remember you don't have to drink it all of the time but try to get it in at least daily. You can thank me later.
