Hi,
I’m trying to activate my chest muscles (at the moment, specifically my lower chest), but no matter the exercise, I can’t seem to do it. I always seem to be either activating especially the front of my shoulders, or my triceps. I know to retract my scapula and whatnot, and to try to keep my shoulders back. It seems like my chest hasn’t been sore in weeks and it’s frustrating the hell out of my that I can’t figure this out.
Maybe nothing is wrong though, I don’t know!
Specifically, here is one workout I’ve tried doing that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I can get the contraction he’s getting (I think?) if I go really deep into the rep, and I’m flexing my pec as hard as I can, and I’m on a really low weight, but it still doesn’t wear out my chest! Can I get some advice to figure this out?
Please help.
Thanks!
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.

Hey man,
Two things
First: Soreness isn't necessary. I know it feels good because you know you've done "something" but to be honest you don't need to be sore.
Second: Try some of thee movements to try an feel your chest.
1. Plate Pinch Press: Take a plate, start with 10lbs. and place your hand on the plate and press like you're praying. Press the the plate straight out in front of your body hold for up to 10 seconds and return to your chest.
2. Reverse Grip Bench: Just like a traditional bench press but turn your hands around and grip the bar as wide as possible.
3. 5/5/5 Plate Push-Ups: With a 45lb. plate do 5 push-ups with your left hand on the plate, 5 with both hands on the plate and finish with 5 with your right hand on the plate.
Let me know if it works!
