With my years of experience I have encoutered many cases of undereating. Most people have the common misconception that in order to lose weight all they have to do is put there body in a caloric defecit. But the truth is not eating enough actually has the opposite effect. If you're not eating enough your body will start to store energy as fat. In a state of "starvation" your heart rate will also slow, reducing blood flow thus slowing down your metabolism. During this process your body will also start to take nutrients from your bones and muscles leading muscle and bone breakdown. If that's not enough lack of calories/energy will leaving feeling tired and sluggish.
